Every year, substantial government benefits and grant funding go unclaimed.
Afforda is here to help you find out if there is financial assistance available for you, that you may not have already.
We can also help you to find out if there is a suitable credit product available, to help you with your needs.
Afforda uses the information you provide to see if there are any government benefits or grants that you may be entitled to.
We can also see if there are any credit solutions that might be appropriate for your situation.
If there is a credit solution, we can direct you to a Lender to apply.
There is no obligation for you to apply for any financial product, and you will not be charged for using our website.
It is important to note that Afforda provides information and resources to help our customers. It is up to an individual to apply for either benefits or a credit product, and the final decision to approve will sit with the respective government or lender.

Once you have checked if you are eligible for any benefits through our benefits checker, you may still want to see if there are any credit solutions available.
To do this, you can complete an application form.
We will then pass this application to our panel of lenders to see if you are eligible for a credit product.
If you are eligible for a credit product, we will redirect you to the Lender's website.
You will be able to complete your application for credit directly with the Lender.
Once the product is approved, the funds will be transferred to your bank account by the Lender.
The time it takes for the money to be paid will depend on the Lender.
We would suggest you ask the Lender directly for confirmation of this.
You can apply for between £100 and £5,000, but how much you can borrow depends on your personal circumstances and the Lender’s criteria.
To apply for credit through Afforda, you must:
Lenders that we refer you to will have their own specific qualification criteria including a minimum income. It’s important to check this before you apply.
Many lenders now offer eligibility checkers. These let you find out how likely you are to be accepted for a loan.
Eligibility checkers use a soft credit check, which means there will be no impact on your credit record. When you know which loans you’re likely to be accepted for, you can go ahead and apply in full.
Applying for a personal loan in full will involve a hard credit check.
This means the lender will check your credit report to see how well you have managed credit in the past and whether you have a history of missed payments.
A hard credit search will show up on your credit report and can cause a temporary dip in your credit score. That’s why it’s best not to make too many applications for credit in a short amount of time.
Yes, it’s possible – being on benefits does not automatically disqualify you from applying.
However, it is really important that you are able to afford the repayments.
Yes, you will need a UK bank account, as this is where the funds would be transferred.
If you accept an offer for credit, the repayment process will be explained by the Lender.
The process to pay back the money borrowed will depend on the type of credit you have taken.
Most lenders will automatically take the payment from your debit card using Continuous Payment Authority (CPA), provided you have sufficient funds in the account.
Unlike Direct Debits or Standing Orders, which are set up through the bank, a continuous payment authority is an agreement made directly with the Lender.
This means that the Lender has your Debit Card details and can charge the agreed amount as required.
If you are not accepted for credit, there could be several reasons for this.
A Lender will not share specific information about why you were not accepted.
If you’d like some further information of why this happened, we would suggest you speak to the credit agency that the Lender uses.
The Lender will be able to tell you who this is.
